Get Your Truck Licence in 3 Easy Steps

Here we have Adam and Luke completing their MR and HR Truck Licence Course with Core Driving School in Wetherill Park. Both Adam and Luke passed the Heavy Vehicle Training and Assessment on the fist day and were extremely exited. it was our pleasure having you both with us and hope you have a safe journey. Enjoy your Trucking Career with your Medium Rigid and Heavy Rigid Truck Licence.

… and here is how you can obtain your MR or HR Truck licence in 3 easy steps.

1st. Complete the Knowledge test at the RMS

2nd. We train you on our MR/HR Trucks.

3rd. We test you.

TO APPLY FOR A MEDIUM RIGID LICENCE (MR LICENCE), YOU MUST:

  • Have held a class C licence, (except a Learner licence) or equivalent for one year or more. Any time you’ve spent on a P1 licence counts, but you can’t practice to drive an MR vehicle, or upgrade to an MR licence until you hold a P2 or full class C licence
  • Pass the MR knowledge test
  • Pass an eyesight test

MEDIUM RIGID VEHICLES INCLUDE:

  1. Trucks and buses with a GVM more than 8 tonnes and 2 axles.
  2. Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.

HEAVY RIGID VEHICLES INCLUDE:

  • 1Trucks and buses with a GVM more than 8 tonnes, and 3 or more axles.
  • 2Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.
  • 3Bendy buses. Even though these vehicles are articulated, they’re treated as rigid vehicles.

TO APPLY FOR A HEAVY RIGID LICENCE (HR LICENCE), YOU MUST:

  • Have held a class C licence, (except a Learner licence) or equivalent for two years or more. Any time you’ve spent on a P1 licence counts, but you can’t practice to drive an HR vehicle, or upgrade to an HR licence until you hold a P2 or full class C licence
  • Pass the HR knowledge test
  • Pass an eyesight test
