I had a great day learning to drive a heavy vehicle today, the team at Core really gave me confidence at the same time impressing the big responsibility and safety upon me in all ways. I experienced a range of instructors , each of them delivered a skill or general knowledge that I will never forget. A terrific crew down there at Core Truck Driving, I'm definitely going back to upskill again in future, I had my licence upgrade passed by just after lunchtime.. !

Great course to upgrade my car licence to a LR truck licence in a 1 day session. The instructors were excellent and I felt confidant when we switched instructors and I was video assessed for the driving test. The practical session on trying down a load with ropes, ratchet straps and chains was very useful and I was allowed to video my instructor so I can go home and practice my knots.

Without a doubt, CORE Driving school should be the ONLY driving school you need to contact to upgrade or acquire a heavy vehicle licences (LR, MR, HR, HC). I called another company and they never called me back! Their Loss! Isaac, Elda and the rest of the team are the best!

I chose CORE Driving School after doing some elaborate research on various other options. Turned out it was a good choice. I was doubtful about the training day, so Elda suggested that I book the day with a minimal deposit, which is not generally available with other organisations who book with the total amount.I landed at 0530 in the morning and started sharply at 0600 with Issiah briefing us on the general topics, including the pre-start checks. I started training with Bill on 15-CORE, and it was an excellent experience. I drove around with Bill for about 4.5 hours, including a break at a good cafe that Bill took me to.Frank assessed me, and I drove for an hour without hiccups.Positives: Excellent experience, reasonable price, long training time, and elaborate explanations of the details of the regulations.Suggesstions: I booked in for Automatic/Syncromesh and was not asked for an option. I thought I would get to train in both or would be asked about an option, which did not happen. I was expecting to drive a syncromesh truck as well. In the future, please ask the student to choose between automatic and syncromesh.I did not clarify, so I cannot hold that against them.Suggestions to future students: Much time is spent on the road, so if you bring your food along, don't leave it at the office but carry it while driving so that you can eat your lunch during the roadside break.
